Berry Sprins reopen for swimming this weekend
31 May 2013The Parks and Wildlife Commission of the NT advises that Berry Springs Nature Park will be reopen for swimming from tomorrow.
Regional Chief Ranger, Nigel Weston, said Parks and Wildlife rangers have spent the past week undertaking water quality testing and crocodile surveys to ensure the popular swimming spot is safe to reopen in time for the weekend.

Lee Point Walking Track closed for repairs and maintenance
30 May 2013The Parks and Wildlife Commission of the NT advises that the Lee Point Walking Track at Casuarina Coastal Reserve is closed for repairs and maintenance.
Regional Chief Ranger, Nigel Weston said a section of the popular track will be closed from behind Royal Darwin Hospital to the World War II observation bunker at Lee Point.

Calling All Junior Rangers
30 May 2013The Parks and Wildlife Commission NT (PWCNT) is calling out to young and enthusiastic environmentalists to join the popular Junior Ranger Program for 2013.
PWCNT Community Engagement Manager Jennifer Cunningham said more than 1000 Territory children have become Junior Rangers since the program’s inception in 1991.

Wangi Falls open for swimming
30 May 2013The Parks and Wildlife Commission of the NT advises that Wangi Falls, located within Litchfield National Park, is now open for swimming.
Acting/District Ranger, Julie Heran said the popular swimming spot was reopened to the public for swimming after rangers completed comprehensive crocodile surveys of the area.

Katherine Gorge within Nitmiluk National Park remains closed
29 May 2009The Parks and Wildlife Commission of the NT advises that Katherine Gorge, within Nitmiluk National Park, will remain closed for the rest of the week.

The area had been closed to swimming since November, following heavy rain and the possible presence of estuarine (saltwater) crocodiles in the area.
