  • Ensure your vehicle is well maintained and equipped
  • Familiarise yourself with boating conditions and safety requirements
  • Remember to lock your vehicle and keep valuables in a safe place
  • Put your rubbish in the bin or take it away with you
  • Keep to designated roads and tracks
  • Check that your vehicle is not transporting weeds and unwanted animals
  • Remember all cultural items and wildlife are protected. Don't feed native animals
  • Pets are not permitted in most parks, contact a regional office for further information
  • Nets, traps and firearms are not permitted
  • Take care with fire, light fires only in fireplaces provided. Take a gas BBQ in case there is a total fire ban
  • Collection of firewood may not be permitted in some parks and campgrounds, so collect fallen timber before you arrive
  • Avoid using soaps and detergent in or near waterways
  • Camp only in designated camping areas - camping fees apply
  • Observe all fishing regulations
